Tour description

Our cultural Mtskheta and Tbilisi tour cover 2 ancient cities and capitals of Georgia. Mtskheta served as main city of Georgian Kingdom before 5th century. Then Thrown was moved to newly built Tbilisi. Located just 15 kilometers from each other, cities are very comfortable and good choice for 1-day tour.

Tour starts with ride to Mtskheta. At first, we will visit Jvari Monastery, located on the top of the hill, overlooking town and gorgeous view of two rivers confluence: Mtkvari and Aragvi. Built in VI century, Jvari Monastery is one of the oldest churches of Georgia. Then we lower to the town itself – main attraction here is Svetitskhoveli Cathedral – through the centuries, Svetitskhoveli served as main cathedral of the kingdom. Completed in 1029, Cathedral stays outstanding example of traditional Georgian architecture. After little walk for souvenirs and lunch, we ride back to Tbilisi.

We visit the heart of Tbilisi – The Old City. Here you can enjoy diverse culture and architecture of Tbilisi: Orthodox church, Muslim mosque, Jewish synagogue – all within 5 minutes walk from each other. After visiting Metekhi church and Rike Park, we ride to Narikala Fortress by cable car and overlook the city – beating heart of Georgia. And, of course, Abanotubani, district of baths, according to legend, the place, where it all started. We take a walk to Legvtakhevi Gorge to waterfall. Then, by Shardeni street, we head to the Peace Bridge, where Tbilisi tour is finished.
